“The two most important days in your life are the day you are born and the day you find out why.” – Mark Twain

T
his Mark Twain quote starts off Denzel Washington's more recent movie The Equalizer .  I wonder if the Tech Entrepreneur or even a Janitor, truly knows why they were born?   What creates within an individual this sense of manifest destiny?

In the 19th Century Manifest Destiny was a belief that American expansion, not only could, but was divinely destined to stretch from coast to coast. While there are those who would argue that there was nothing divine about it – the fact still remains that in the 19th Century – there was a sense of purpose.

Shouldn't we strive for - some sort of sense of purpose?   Does anyone truly want to have for their obituary read, “..So and so was born and now they are dead.”

So here’s to that Tech Superstar, Plumber, House Wife/Husband or anyone else who strives to do more than their best each and every day.

I say to you…”strive and strive on.”   For when it is all said and done – create a living obituary that will show the world why you were born.   And by in the act of doing so, inspire the next generation to create their own Manifest Destiny.
